All patrons are held responsible to care properly for the library books, resources and equipment they check out of the library and to return them in a timely way. While there are no fines for overdue books, patrons must pay replacement cost including 15% shipping and handling for any items that are lost or damaged while under their care.

In addition to the payment, patrons may be required to make restitution in the form of reporting to the library to do a determined amount of work. The amount and type of service will depend on the circumstances, the age of the patron, the number of losses in the past, and other factors.

Most reference materials may not be removed from the library.

However, with special permission, some reference books can be checked out overnight.

By completing a special permission form, RAS students, parents, faculty and staff may check out books to use during the summer holidays. Aside from RAS employees, the number of books is limited to 5 per patron.
